Patty Wcislo just celebrated her 27th year as the chief, cook and bottle washer
of The Red Onion. Many restaurants and bars have come and gone in that time
while

Red Onion has remained a favorite hangout over the years, and the reason is
simple. The Red Onion is, hands down, the original neighborhood grill &
bar! Our 27 years, and counting, are proof of that. One thing rarely leaves
The Red Onion, the customers, whether they are white collar, blue collar, professional
or entrepreneurs, even those that have moved out of the area return to visit.
The reasons for our success are obvious. Food quality is the most important thing on our menu. Our homemade spaghetti sauce, and chili, will blow you away - as will our broad menu choices, moderate prices and friendly service. We even sport a smoker freindly patio, we keep an area covered and ready for you... Oh yeah, the Red Onion is renowned for it cleanliness, "our kitchen is spotless" says Patty.
Not being a franchise has given us the opportunity to have our own, unique, identity. Patty and her crew (inset) treat everyone who comes through the door like family - even your family. We've been serving a 2nd generation of customers, and look forward to serving the third.
Family and community mean everything to Patty, "that's why we're not open on holidays, no holiday hours here. We reserve that time for family" says Patty. Patty and crew are active in community support from the churches to the schools to the civic organizations, the Medina Hands Foundation (supporting the elderly of Medina County) is just one of many examples.
We invite everyone to drop by and experience the Red Onion hospitality first-hand. We feature great Daily Specials from .99 Fried Bologna sandwiches to our incredible home made spaghetti, chili and soup. We offer something for every appetite. We even have liver and onions you cut with a fork! So if you're looking for a family dinnertime or late night social rendezvous, The Red Onion has you covered. We have Karaoke every Friday with Lenny, golf a round on the Golden Tee, bowl a series on Silver Strike, throw darts or just sit and watch one of the 9 TV's. Of course just listening to the jukebox is always an option too!
